The research project Graphitalks. The Book consisted of the publication (536 color pages, closed format cm. 16.5 x 24) of the audio and video materials recorded during the editions of the eponymous series of meetings, from 2012 to 2023.
The testimonies of the invited authors, in accordance with Paolo Parisi’s idea of exploring the boundary between design culture and contemporary visual arts (the focus of the work of the Academies of Fine Arts), were the basis for the realization of a two-year research and original layout, which interpreted this heterogeneity by making it accessible to future readers.
More than 30 authors attended, including Leonardo Sonnoli, Maurizio Nannucci, Italo Lupi, Helga Marsala, Silvia Sfligiotti, Armin Linke, Collletttivo.
The students reorganized the archival material, selected the text excerpts to be included by making a reduction to about 6,000 characters per author to ensure speed of reading, and finally, devised a cage that could on the one hand represent/recount the time succession and on the other hand facilitate reading even for those who will be reading this story for the first time.
The project, from its conception to its editorial restitution, was carried out thanks to the resources, both human and financial, of the Florence Academy of Fine Arts.
