The Academy of Fine art of Naples is a public institution dedicated to the study of artistic disciplines, and it is the most important academy in Southern Italy for the awarding of first and second-level academic degrees. The Naples Academy is one of the largest and most prestigious in Italy. It is a cultural asset, both in terms of its tangible and intangible heritage, and it serves as a place for teaching, research, and production. As an artistic and cultural center, it has always played a significant role in the national and international art scene.

The educational offerings have expanded with the addition of departments focused on design and applied arts, offering courses such as Fashion Design, Photography, Cinema and Audiovisuals, New Technologies of Art, Communication Design, and Restoration. These programs enrich the traditional paths of the visual arts department, which include Painting, Sculpture, Decoration, and Graphic Arts. Schools such as the School of Design and Applied Arts, with courses in Fashion Design and Communication Design, enhance the traditional paths with new skills and occupational perspectives.

Its history began in 1752 when Carlo di Borbone, following the example of what was happening in Madrid and other major European capitals, established the Real Accademia del Disegno. The first location was at San Carlo alle Mortelle, where the royal workshops for tapestries and hard stones had been active for over a decade. Today, the Academy has two locations: the historic one, since 1822, located in the ancient Convent of San Giovanni delle Monache, built between 1673-1732, and another at the Foqus Foundation in the Spanish Quarter.

Always open to discussion and debate on the arts, the Naples Academy has welcomed artists who have shaped the history of Neapolitan art in the second half of the 20th century, both as students and as Masters. Today, it is attended by approximately 3000 students from Campania, as well as from different regions of Italy and foreign countries. The academy is involved in numerous national and international projects focused on art education and dissemination in society. It boasts international collaborations in various European and national projects and partnerships with other European academies.

The Academy of Fine Arts of Naples is a popular destination for foreign artists, researchers, and scholars, currently hosting about two hundred international students. Studying abroad offers numerous benefits, both for personal cultural enrichment and the invaluable exchange of relationships and experiences that international students can gain. Our institution, along with the city of Naples, is extremely welcoming to young people who invest part of their present in a multicultural future, thereby contributing to a positive societal change. The study of art and related disciplines inherently provides opportunities to define the new languages of the contemporary world, making it an extraordinary life path.

These web pages are designed according to the concepts of "Sustainable Web Design," which is an approach to website architecture aimed at minimizing environmental impact and maximizing energy efficiency and reducing CO2 production. Recall that according to some estimates, a simple search can generate 1g to 10g of CO2, while simply browsing a website produces an average of 1.76g of CO2 per page viewed.
