"Nics è un’applicazione progettata per intercettare la domanda di sicurezza delle persone che, quando sono sole, hanno timore di spostarsi a piedi nelle ore serali o durante la notte. Il servizio fornisce mappe e informazioni puntuali su percorsi consigliati, mette in contatto le persone e offre la possibilità di aggregarsi per compiere tragitti in gruppo. L’applicazione, inoltre, si presta facilmente ad integrazioni utili ad implementarne l’efficacia e articolarne i servizi, come, ad esempio, avere collegamenti in tempo reale con forze dell’ordine e mezzi di soccorsi. I tracciati più sicuri sono definiti in base alle recensioni degli utenti su presenza di criminalità, illuminazione, stato dei selciati; queste si prestano ad essere integrate con informazioni da parte degli enti locali su possibili disagi dovuti a barriere architettoniche, scioperi dei mezzi pubblici, grandi eventi o lavori in corso. La sicurezza del servizio prevede precise disposizioni per le procedure di riconoscimento nell’accesso, sia delle persone che inseriscono le recensioni che di quanti usano l’app per supportarsi reciprocamente durante i tragitti notturni. Tutto questo è facilitato dal progetto di una interfaccia intuitiva, dalla possibilità di modulare i servizi e dal design funzionale che agevolano l’utilizzo dell’applicazione. Il valore del progetto risiede, da un lato, nell’aver intercettato il bisogno, ancora insoluto, di percezione della sicurezza in strada, e allo stesso tempo, l’originalità e l’immediatezza della soluzione proposta aiutano a ridurre le ansie e il senso di instabilità sociale che oggi avvolge ampie aree di numerose città. Indirettamente, oltre a favorire l’attività fisica, lo strumento alimenta rapporti comunitari e maggiori interazioni sociali. "

The project aims to become an essential tool for anyone who wishes to feel safer during nighttime journeys, combining technology with a social, sustainable, and community-oriented approach to tackle the challenges of urban nighttime safety. The Nics app promotes urban safety by enabling users to find safer nighttime routes and encouraging the mindful use of public spaces. In doing so, it contributes to making the city safer and more inclusive, reducing anxiety and uncertainties through detailed maps of safe zones and offering the possibility to take walks together. This encourages walking, thus reducing the environmental impact of excessive vehicle use. Nics leverages innovative technologies, utilizing interactive maps and meetup organization features to promote the adoption of sustainable technological solutions. Nics addresses a critical need for urban safety in a sustainable manner, promoting responsible behaviors. It allows users to create shared routes, offering additional security and enabling them to find travel companions, thereby promoting social interaction and creating groups of users who can support each other. The app provides safe maps and certified routes, based on user reviews regarding factors such as crime rates and street lighting. These maps are updated in real-time based on user reports and reviews. Additionally, Nics enables users to generate chats to confirm meetup details such as times, precise locations, chosen routes, number of people, and names. Nics features a very intuitive interface, with a simple and essential design that makes it easy to use even for less experienced users, ensuring quick and smooth navigation.
