The Awakening
Description
Objectives and Contents: The project aims to explore the impact of political instability on design and fashion design, with a particular focus on the effects of capitalism and global political dynamics. The collection examines how wars, poverty, the power of multinationals, globalization and social and environmental issues have influenced fashion. The main objective is to represent the tension between totalitarian order and human individuality through creations that integrate eco-friendly materials and sustainable techniques.
Project Path: Research and Analysis: Study of political and economic influences on the fashion industry. Analysis of how capitalism has led to excessive consumption of natural resources and the resulting environmental problems.
Concept Development: Creation of a collection that tells the story of a utopian world dominated by a totalitarian regime. The collection is divided into two phases:
- Phase 1: Order and Uniformity: Structured garments, clean and precise lines that symbolize the efficiency and control of the regime.
- Phase 2: Awakening the Individual: Deconstructed garments, with irregular cuts and asymmetrical details that reflect rebellion and the rediscovery of personal identity.
Materials and Techniques: Use of recycled and organic fabrics, low environmental impact production. Each garment is designed to be durable and versatile, promoting sustainability.
Garment Production: Creation of clothes that represent the evolution from imposed order to the rediscovery of individuality. Use of materials such as technical fabrics, leather, neoprene, silk and recycled fabrics.
Presentation of the Collection: Exhibition of the collection through a visual and tactile narrative that accompanies the public through the two phases of the story.
Aspects of Innovation: The project stands out for the integration of political and economic issues in fashion, translating complex concepts into tangible designs. The use of eco-friendly materials and sustainable techniques represents an innovative approach in the fashion design sector. Furthermore, the sartorial narrative of rebellion and rediscovery of individuality adds an emotional and intellectual dimension to the collection.
Consistency with the Design and Fashion Design Field: The project is perfectly aligned with the principles of design and fashion design, as it combines aesthetics and functionality with a strong social and environmental awareness. The collection not only responds to current trends towards sustainability, but also invites a deep reflection on the political and social dynamics that influence our world. The duality between totalitarian order and human individuality is expressed through stylistic choices that balance rigor and creativity, innovation and tradition.
Conclusion: This project represents a fusion of fashion, politics and sustainability, offering a unique and provocative perspective on the role of design in the contemporary socio-political context. The collection is not only a tribute to human resilience in the face of oppression, but also a call to action for a more responsible and sustainable approach to fashion.
